Every story has a beginning. Though my love for music began early in grade school, mostly listening to fuzzy baseball games, Car-Talk and Steely Dan from the back seat of my dads beater. It was only the first chapter of what has become a lifelong love story of music. The second chapter might be titled ‘the high school years’, and involved classic rock, some Canadian bands and a lot of Pink Floyd. Though I was forced by my parents to learn piano, I was not a fan. Once again, proven that my parents knew better, it planted the first seeds of understanding a second language, more powerful than those written down on paper. When I began to really listen to music I knew even then I wanted something more, I didn’t just want to be a passive spectator.

As my story progressed into the college years, I was more widely exposed to not only new genres of music, but began to appreciate the language of music and how it conveys power, and emotion to a movie or game, or creates depth of environment in a theater, and even as a conduit for ones own faith.

Though this is the formal beginning of the Erie Sound Studio, it is the next chapter in my musical journey. I’d be honored if you would like to make it part of yours.
